For as long as I can remember, I’ve struggled with my weight and my relationship with food. After years of yo-yo dieting, I had had enough, so I got in touch with DMC. I was nervous about the initial consultation because talking about my weight has always been a sore spot for me and I tried to avoid it at all costs, but Pablo made me feel like I had been part of the team for years and gave me the inspiration I needed to sign up – and I’m so thankful I did!
My first few sessions with Davie were about facing up to some home truths and changing my mindset towards food and myself. In my second session, we sat in a room together and spoke about my relationship with food, how I feel about myself and where I want to be. It was an emotional hour and a half but without it, I don’t think I’d have been able to push through some of my mental barriers – and it reaffirmed my reasons for choosing DMC in the first place. I didn’t just want to improve my fitness, I needed to reprogram my brain and start thinking about food differently.
I have now been training with Davie for 13 weeks and what a difference he’s made. My aim was to lose about a stone in my first 10 weeks but with Davie’s encouragement, I smashed that target and doubled my initial goal by losing 28lbs and 20 inches. I can say with complete honesty that I have enjoyed every single training session – and that’s saying something because my training slot is at 7am!
It’s not all plain sailing and I’ve lost sight of where I’m going a couple of times but Davie is always right there to talk it through, encourage, reassure and put me straight back on track. I’ve learned so much from this man and I’m grateful to be able to call him a friend as well as a coach.
I can’t speak highly enough of the entire DMC team. I know I’m in safe hands with them and this time next year, I’ll be a whole new me!
