It’s that time again; the first couple of months of a new year and time for me to detail and plan my assault on 2015. A couple of years ago, I put this blog together. If you are new to goal-setting, then this is a great place to start.
Exactly around this time last year, I wrote this blog. I spent some of January reading through it and ticking off what had been achieved, what was to be carried forward and what I was leaving behind.
2014 didn’t exactly go to plan but that’s not to say that it wasn’t an exceptional year. Many amazing and unexpected opportunities arose which changed the course of the path I was on. I also experienced a couple of huge learning curves and I made a couple of rather spectacular mistakes which were great lessons for me. Overall though, I improved in about 98% of all key areas.
Dealing with stress presented an important learning curve for me in 2014. The autumn months were a challenge and I had to go through some “stuff” but once out the other side had more great learnings.
So what will I be working on in 2015?
Firstly, happiness will be the foundation around which I build everything else. I will do what will make me and those around me very happy. I will work much faster and smarter, which will free up more time for me to refine and further improve the businesses I am building. All of this will allow me to spend and enjoy more time with Julie and my boys, our family and friends.
I will keep doing my bit for the charities I support. We will keep taking donations for the Glasgow Food Banks and in April, I will be doing the Virgin London Marathon, raising money for Maggie’s. To be honest with you, I am looking forward to a little time on my own during my road work while preparing for the Virgin London Marathon in April.
Julie, the boys and I will be taking more family holidays in 2015 as this is something that has been neglected over the last few years. The first of these is in a few weeks’ time when we go out to Orlando, Florida to take the kids to see Mickey Mouse and Jake and the Neverland Pirates. This will be amazing and we are all very excited about it. We also have booked some time off in July and October will arrange some further sunshine breaks for then once we come back from Disney.
Educationally, I am attending Andy Harrington’s Professional Speakers Academy on a bi-monthly basis. I am learning how to apply his Jet Set Speaker System to my story and look forward to the year ahead. I was introduced to The Brand Brains by Andy I have been working through the modules of their How To Build a Brand online program. This is going well and I am learning some great stuff.
I already have a a selection of books to read and work through: my aim is to read a different educational book once per month.
My training will be focused around the big barbell lists: squat, press (bench and overhead) and dead lift. My conditioning will come from skipping, sprints, prowler pushing, kettlebells, outdoor road work and combat sports training.
I will continue to improve and develop DMC Fitness. We will be launching an online digital coaching platform, an online shop and lots of new products. There will also be various kettlebell, weight loss, diet and motivational seminars available to attend at the gym.
Magic Minds has a brand new website to be launched with some new golf sports-specific mind and fitness coaching. Beside this the MM corporate coaching program has also been updated and I am excited to grow this over the coming years.
I will keep all of my goals in clear focus and work on building strong daily rituals, following through with strong daily P.E.P.P.
I think 2014 will be a tough year to beat, to be honest with you. I will be happy to get my health, strength and physical body back to where they should be whilst keeping stress at bay and enjoy patiently growing, developing and improving everywhere I can.
Here’s to a good one, guys. Make 2015 what you want it to be.
Thanks for reading.
