It’s the first week of May 2020. Due to the COVID-19 ‘Pandemic’ the UK has been forced into house arrest. All ‘non essential’ businesses have been closed. The lockdown started on Friday 13th March and at time of writing we will remain in a locked down state until the end of May.
April was a mega productive month, both professionally and personally.
It was my birthday and I was showered with so much love. I had my perfect day doing all the things I love with those closest to me. I got lovely gifts, 100’s of messages caring voice notes, video calls with the lads and beautiful family time and of course EPIC eating. Easily one of my best birthdays to date. I’m 43, loving life and feel like I’m just getting warmed up. 😳😍🕺
We pivoted the business offline to online in 36 hours. Our style of online coaching has been well received and our clients are really happy with the experience and results they are getting. We have consistently hit an average of 85 hours per week which is 30% reduction in pre-COVID run rate.
Still we are progressing well and I am now creating and building something really beautiful, its my life’s masterpiece. Its a secret right now. I’ll share more on that project in due course.
All of the business based administration was achieved swiftly and now we are riding it out. I’ve done my scenarios and I have my plans in place.
On reflection, I feel accomplished that I’ve built a solid business structure because it’s definitely been tested in the past few weeks. I fully believe we will weather all elements of this storm.
On another note, I’ve been appointed as the health and wellness advisor for Harper Macleod law firm.
For those who don’t know Harper Macleod is the largest independent law firm in Scotland.
I am the private coach to the founder and chairman, Professor Lorne Crerar CBE. Lorne came to me at 62 years young. Due to his career, his body was chair shaped with multiple injuries and niggles. He had been out of regular exercise for many decades.
Where is he now?… He’s 65, injury free, exercises every day, is a very accomplished boxer and is the fittest healthiest, and strongest he has ever been.
This is my art and is where my professional fulfillment comes from. I love projects like these. It’s like being a master mechanic and restoring a vintage car.

The home life
Being at home means more time to read, cook and see the kids.
The boys asked for Mohicans and who was I to say no.
My daily routine had been turned upside down. All my training, coaching, creative thinking and personal development are being done from home. I usually do these from my gym DMC HQ
So I’ve improvised, adapted and overcome that challenge and my April activity review via my heart rate strap and app is good reading for me.
I’ve got a solid, effective, productive routine in place and it’s been optimised appropriately to take care of all of my roles and responsibilities.
Routine + Rituals = RESULTS.
I made a choice to swap Facebook for real books and now I’m a few weeks in I’m not missing it and feeling proud that I am educating myself instead of distracting myself.
Something I’ve been meaning to do for a while. Progress always = happiness. I do miss my friends online but my reading and personal development is paramount right now.
I’ve really enjoyed improving my pizza making skills. I’ve prepared a separate blog on this here.
Overall it is what it is. I reassure myself daily that this too shall pass and that all is well.
I’ve used the time well, reflecting, writing, creating, coaching, and cooking. I’m coming out of this in the best condition of my life.
The key to it all is injecting Vitamin L into my life.
