Hey, how’s it going. After last week I’ve decided to give up trying to promote going out and enjoying the sun after the heavens opened up last weekend and ruined the fun a little. Ha ha!
Right now as my day begins and I am off from coaching at DMC HQ, I like to get out early in the morning to walk through the countryside. Sometimes I even do it barefooted in the fields. I find it a very grounding experience, especially when the weather’s fresh and warm, and the fields are rich in greenery. It’s so refreshing.
Going for a walk is an excellent way to increase your daily movement and allows you to process the events in your life. I know it helps me relax and refocus and can do for you too.
On Sunday, I ran through the farm roads trainers, shorts, and headphones during the thunder and rainstorm. The rain bouncing off my skin was delicious. It’s was a snap decision still a very refreshing and liberating run.
On Monday, I went to Bardowie Loch for a freshwater swim. The water was lukewarm and felt great. Freshwater swimming is something I’m going to be doing more often.
My podcast share of the week is this episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, with guest Dorian Yates. Dorian is an English professional bodybuilder. He won the Mr. Olympia title six times from 1992-1997. I’ve been listening to him a lot lately.
I love to laugh and this episode of The Big Narstie Show with Jimmy Carr had me in stitches. I hope you’ll find it as funny as I did.
I’ve got stuck into a new book this week. The Healing Journey takes an in-depth look at the spiritual and psychotherapeutic potential of the amphetamine derivatives MDA and MMDA, harmaline (the active compound in ayahuasca), and ibogaine.
So far, I’ve enjoyed it and look forward to doing more reading on the psychotherapeutic applications of psychedelics.
I’m getting hyped for UFC 264 this weekend. Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier have their third clash. They are tied one and one and this is the decider. I’m team Conor all the way. I can’t wait for the contest.
My song of the week is Love Generation by Bob Sinclair.
Finally, I’ve been checking out the new Netflix show, Sex/Life with Julie during our chill-out time. It’s not something we’d normally watch but it was treading on Netflix so we gave it a go. As much as it’s very soft porn… It’s actually a good story and depiction of life as a 40 something professional married parent
As usual, I’ll leave you with a quote that I’ve been pondering:
The best fighter is never angryLao Tzu
Until next week, “Strength for Life”
