It was really a breath of fresh air to meet the team at DMC fitness. For me it came at a time when I felt really lost in terms of trying to stay on track with my physical fitness and needed guidance.
I had one main goal which was to keep active and fit during my pregnancy. I found the mixed messages and scare stories prevalent in media and society overwhelming and unhelpful.
I was already training at the gym regularly and enjoyed fitness and exercise but felt that the expectation was that I would stop doing this when pregnant and worried how this would impact my physical health and also mental well being.
Working with Pablo has been very reassuring and supportive. He is really encouraging and helped me to focus on maintenance, mobility, consistency and good technique rather than trying to set any records!
Some exercises do need to be adapted for pregnancy and it is so useful to have guidance and reassurance with this.
It must be highlighted that the warm and open welcome you get from the DMC team is unparallelled. Many gym settings can be intimidating and unfriendly but this could not be further from the case.
Everyone is inclusive, encouraging and this really helped me to look forward to every session. I would have no reservations in recommending them to anyone who is keen to improve their fitness and well being even if you have not felt at home in a training environment before – this is different!
I am looking forward to heading back when it’s time to set some post partum goals!
