We have answered some of the questions people regularly ask before joining DMC Fitness. If your question is not covered below then send us a message. We will be happy to help, and there is no pressure or obligation to join

Getting Started

We are not a conventional membership gym. We work strictly on a 1-2-1 appointment only basis. Our coaches work closely with you, provide structure and accountability, and teach you how to exercise safely and effectively while achieving the goals you want to accomplish and the results you desire to consistently maintain

We work predominately with successful professionals and the over 50’s, but have have members of all ages (over 18). 

A Success Session is an initial free consultation where we learn more about you, your goals and any challenges that have prevented you from making progress in the past.

We show you what we do here in DMC Fitness and share how it all works. We chat through the type of support you may need and answer any of your questions.

We will give you a tour of our facility. You’ll meet any of the coaches on shift that day and then we will take you through a gentle mobility screen

The session lasts approximately 60 minutes and lets us both see if we’re going to be the right fit for each other.

No. The Success Session is an opportunity to ask questions, understand our training packages and decide whether DMC Fitness feels right for you.

We will make a recommendation based on your goals, but you will be given the space to make your own decision.

Personal Training at DMC

Yes. DMC Fitness provides personalised one-to-one coaching. You will work directly with a your assigned professional coach who understands your goals, current ability and personal circumstances.

Although other clients and coaches may be in the gym, your session and programme are focused on you.

Yes. We take into account your ability exercise history, lifestyle and any relevant limitations.

Your program will be based on your goals, movement experience and ability, we believe in movement first before any challenging training begins. It’s all based around you and what you need. We do things differently to the main stream gyms.

Your coach will tweak the programme as you progress to keep it fresh and fun and it will go at your pace.

Our gold and platinum programs sessions are booked for 60 minutes.

The diamond elite program session length is generally 90 minutes.

Once clients are competent in warming up correctly for those who want come in and warm up on their own this is arranged.

You are not alone. Many people come to DMC after feeling uncomfortable, self-conscious or out of place in conventional gyms.

We provide a friendly, supportive, fun environment where you will be guided rather than judged.

We aim that you will always know what you are doing and why you are doing it.

It’s a fun friendly place to learn how to move correctly and enjoy doing it. Many of our clients say it’s the highlight of their week

We aim to match you with a coach who is well-suited to your goals, personality and availability.

You will normally work consistently with your coach. If your usual coach is unavailable, we will explain the available options and ensure any replacement coach understands your programme.

We provide a friendly, supportive, fun environment where you will be coached rather than judged. You will always know what you are doing and why you are doing it, and you will not be left alone to work things out.

DMC Fitness is a personal-training facility rather than a crowded commercial gym. This helps us create a more private, focused and supportive experience.

There will be no more than 10 people (including coaches) on the gym floor at any one time. 

Yes. Complete beginners are very welcome.

Your coach will teach you how to perform each exercise and will explain the purpose behind it. You will not be expected to recognise equipment, understand gym terminology or keep up with anyone else. 

You progress at your own pace.

Health, Injuries and Age

No. It is never too late to become stronger, fitter and more active.

We work with adults in their 50s, 60s, 70s and beyond. Your training will be adapted to your current ability and focused on helping you maintain strength, mobility, balance, confidence and independence.

Yes. Our over-50s personal training is designed for people who want to remain strong, capable and active as they get older.

It can be particularly helpful if you are experiencing reduced strength, stiffness, poor mobility, lower energy or a loss of confidence in your physical ability.

In many cases, training can be adapted around an injury, previous surgery or physical limitation. However, the right approach depends on your individual circumstances.

Tell us about any pain, injury or treatment during your initial Success Session. We may ask you to speak to your GP, physiotherapist or another appropriate healthcare professional before beginning or continuing certain exercises.

Yes. We have experience supporting clients with a range of personal circumstances and health challenges, but every case must be considered individually.

Please tell us about relevant conditions, medication, symptoms or professional medical advice before beginning with us.

We may request medical clearance with a GP if we believe it is necessary for your safety.

Programmes and Prices

You do not need to decide before contacting us.

During your Success Session, we will learn about your goals, availability, current fitness and the level of support you need. We can then recommend the programme that appears most suitable.

The Gold Programme is DMC Fitness’s focused health and fitness programme, designed for individuals who want expert coaching, structure, and accountability to improve their overall health and fitness.

The programme includes 10 one-to-one personal training sessions delivered by a professional DMC coach, providing personalised guidance, a structured exercise programme, and ongoing support to help clients build confidence, improve fitness, and establish sustainable healthy habits.

The Platinum Programme is DMC Fitness’s comprehensive 12-week lifestyle transformation programme, designed for individuals who are committed to creating lasting improvements in their health, fitness, and overall wellbeing.

The programme provides structured coaching in training, goal setting, nutrition, hydration, and sustainable lifestyle habits. It also includes fitness assessments, progress measurements, and regular lifestyle reviews to ensure consistent progress and long-term success.

Platinum is ideal for those looking to build a stronger, healthier lifestyle through expert coaching, personalised support, and a proven, results-driven approach.

The Diamond Elite Programme is DMC Fitness’s exclusive six-month transformation programme, designed for Chairpersons, Chief Executive Officers, Managing Directors, C-suite executives, and established business owners who want to perform at their highest level.

Personally delivered by DMC Fitness Founder and Head Coach, Davie McConnachie, the programme provides bespoke coaching in training, nutrition, recovery, mindset, and accountability. During your Success Session, we will discuss your goals, recommend the programme best suited to your needs, and clearly explain the total investment along with the available payment options. You’ll have all the information you need before making a decision, with no pressure or obligation.

Cancellations and Appointments

We understand that work commitments, family responsibilities, and unexpected circumstances can sometimes affect your plans.

If you need to change or cancel a session, we ask that you provide between 24 and 48 hours’ notice wherever possible.

Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice may be deducted from your programme, unless otherwise agreed. Any exceptions are made at the discretion of DMC Fitness.

Our cancellation policy helps us provide the highest level of service while ensuring appointment availability is managed fairly for all clients.

We do everything possible to ensure your coach is available to deliver your scheduled sessions. However, on the rare occasion that unforeseen circumstances arise, we will contact you as soon as possible to arrange a replacement appointment or another suitable solution.

You will never lose a session because your coach has had to cancel. We will always ensure your programme is delivered in full.

Online Personal Training

Online personal training gives you live, one-to-one coaching with a DMC personal trainer using your laptop, tablet or smartphone.

It works the same as in person coaching. Your trainer can demonstrate exercises, observe your technique, provide feedback and adapt the session in real-time. It is not a library of generic, pre-recorded workouts.

No. Online sessions can be designed around your available space and equipment.

Many exercises can be completed using your body weight or a small amount of portable equipment. Some suitable equipment can be provided where required.

Yes. Online coaching can be delivered wherever you are, provided you have a suitable internet connection, enough space to move safely and an agreed appointment time.

This can be useful for clients who travel regularly, live outside Glasgow or prefer to exercise at home.

Yes. Online personal-training sessions are delivered live and one-to-one.

Your trainer will be present throughout the session to coach, motivate and provide immediate feedback.

You will need a smartphone, tablet or computer with a camera, microphone and reliable internet connection.

Visiting DMC Fitness

DMC Fitness is located at:

The gym is close to Charing Cross and Anderston railway stations and St George’s Cross subway station.

Paid on-street parking is located right in front of the Gym for up to three hours.

C. G. Car Park is located on Berkley Street which is just around the corner from the DMC Fitness and allows for longer parking durations.  The gym is a 2 minute walk from there.

The Gym is basement level. We currently do not have full disabled access. 

Anyone with specific access requirements to contact us before visiting so that we can provide accurate guidance.

We have changing and shower facilities available for clients. Your coach can explain what is available before your first session.

Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely, along with supportive footwear.

Personal-training sessions are arranged by appointment. Early morning, daytime and evening availability may vary depending on your coach and programme.

We aim to respond to all website enquiries as quickly as possible, and always within 12–24 hours.

Enquiries submitted during weekends, public holidays, or exceptionally busy periods may take a little longer. If you require a more immediate response during our opening hours, please call us on 0141 226 3354.
