Enjoying Healthy Eating

If you are anything like us you will be extremely busy, busy in your career, busy finding the time to be healthy active and motivated.

Busy looking after young ones and being a responsible parent or a mix of all of the above.

With that comes time pressures and challenges finding time for being healthy.

After a long day when you get home the last thing you want to be doing is prepping and cooking food. It’s so much more convenient and easier to put a tray in the ping-ping (microwave) or pick up the phone and call a delivery. I get it and I understand as I’ve been there myself.

Most of us have better energy, sleep better and clearer focus when we are fueling our bodies with healthy and wholesome foods.

Eating healthier is easier when you know how to cook. In this blog, I share a series of how to instructional recipe follow along videos and links to great content that will give you the tools and technical ability to enjoy healthy cooking.

We will start with the very basics. In the video below I share an introduction to cooking and the equipment we use. I present a walk-through talk through of the kit we have acquired over the years.

The vegetable is an important part of being healthy so next up we have basic vegetable preparation again I walk through talk through. Don’t worry if you can’t eat vegetables you can take a supplements.

Eggs are an excellent source of all the right types fats proteins and vitamins.

As a quick-lunch or a snack, I enjoy hard-boiled eggs for dinner a few times a week ill have scrambled eggs on toast or a gorgeous 6 egg omelette with chicken and cheese.

Again where you source your eggs from matters. We get ours delivered directly from the farm the yolks are deep orange compared to the yellow yolk of supermarket eggs.

Here is the video of boiling eggs.

All videos are now follow along style with written direction and groovy tunes in the background

Up next a favourite of ours broccoli and cauliflower soup love it on winter’s night piping hot with some warm crusty bread on the side. During the summer, we sometimes have this cold.

We love chilli in our house. Sourcing good quality minced meat is important, and we buy directly from the farm. Red meat isn’t eaten a lot in our house as we all prefer chicken more.

Slow cookers are a great bit of kit and I do a Spanish “Style” chicken in our recipe below. so easy just set up the ingredients and leave it to cook. Nothing better than coming in after the slow cookers been on all day and the house is smelling gorgeous with the aroma of freshly cooked food.

Sticking with the chicken theme next up we have my take on lemon chicken. I love this and always cook a bigger batch so I can use it for lunches for days in the gym.

Once you get the hang of the basics you can start to try more challenging recipes and different styles of cooking.

Julie and the boys love to bake especially chocolate cake … the healthier type

A few years ago i was asked to help a vegetarian client who was struggling with finding choices. I then wrote this blog eating for fat loss and being a vegetarian.

More content is available in the Cooking and Cuisine section of our blog.

So, there we are a content-rich blog that will spark some ideas for you and allow you to learn how to enjoy cooking if you have never done it before.
