Tier 4 restrictions are in place in Glasgow from Friday the 20th of November for 3 weeks. Due to this we won’t be able to provide face to face coaching until Saturday the 12th of December. In the meantime, we still offer 1-2-1 online personal training.
I had always been relatively fit and healthy as an adult and had never particularly worried about my weight or my figure until i got to my early thirties. Getting married and having 4 children in the space of 6 years changed things quite a bit! I found i no longer had the time or energy to go to the local gym to attend exercise classes. I was also eating more. Gradually my weight crept up and my figure wasn’t as toned as it once was.
I eventually decided to do something about it after watching my husband get into shape himself. I figured if he could do it so could I.
I started off by going running and although it seemed hard to begin with, having not really exercised for years, I stuck at it. I lost a stone within the first 9 months and got to a weight I felt I could maintain.
I was getting a little bored of just running though and wanted something a bit more challenging to keep me on the right path.
My husband had been going to Davie for two years and had been trying to gently persuade me that I might enjoy going too! I decided to give it a go! I went in and enjoyed my taster session so much I decided to sign up for a ten week block initially. Davies nature was very engaging and I knew I would feel comfortable with him training me. I was quite emphatic though that I was not changing my diet for him or anyone else. I was convinced I didn’t have great stamina or much of a competitive mindset. Davie said he thought I could easily become a size 8/10… To which I chortled.
So after listening to him talk about nutrition I decided to give his suggestions a go and ma a few simple adjustments to my eating (and drinking) habits.
I surprised my husband by my determination but more than that I surprised myself! I’m actually much more determined than I thought I was.
The combination of my new, regular training regime, Davies straightforward nutritional advice and his drive and motivation helped me lose another stone and a half over the next few months. The support of the rest of the DMC team helps tremendously as well.
It is now 16 months since I started at DMC and I have never been healthier or happier. I’m still a size 8/10 and I’m fitter than I’ve ever been in my life, I rarely get a cold never mind any other ailment and I’m 2 and half stone lighter than when I started! Not bad going for a 41 year old mother of 4!
