I have been training with DMC now for about 10 months and so far I have lost 46lb in weight, dropped 8.8% in body fat and shed over 48 inches from around my body!
My DMC experience first started back in February when I was desperate to make a positive change in my life. I played hockey regularly and was a member of a commercial gym. I thought I was relatively fit but in fact I was overweight, feeling constantly tired and had aches and pains all over my body.
I found DMC when browsing the web for personal trainers in Glasgow. I clicked on their website, and was immediately drawn to all of their success stories. At first, I was a little sceptical as all of the results seemed a little “too good to be true”, but after having read the testimonials and watched the videos, I knew this was the place for me. I booked my free taster session through the website and within a week, I was standing inside their facility.
I was greeted by Pablo, one of the Head Coaches, who immediately made me feel welcome. He explained to me DMC’s philosophy on training and way of life. He reassured me that he wasn’t just some drill sergeant that wanted to inflict pain upon me for his own kicks (even though I think he takes pleasure in me doing burpees or wrestling with the Bulgarian bag!) I was impressed with what I heard, so I put all my trust in Pablo, and listened to all of his advice and experience.
As the weeks went by, the weight kept dropping off. I felt great, and noticed huge changes in my body, only enhanced by the fact that others were commenting on how great I looked! One of the best comments I’ve had was from my Dad, who told me how “athletic” I looked after I had been training to get in better shape for my summer holidays.
As a direct result of DMC, Pablo’s coaching, and my efforts to make a positive change, I have inspired my parents and my younger brother to improve their lifestyles, too. They have left their regular gyms, and joined DMC. They are all doing great.
My Dad’s mobility has improved significantly after having suffered from an arthritic knee for many years. This is all thanks to his tailored sessions and DMC’s in-house physio. He is 21lb lighter but most importantly, stronger and healthier.
My Mum has also done incredibly well. By no means overweight, she has dropped 26lb, reduced her body fat by 8% and shed over 18 inches and is several steps closer to achieving her ideal body before she is 60.
My brother is just coming to the end of his first block and he is stronger than he has ever been before.
Overall, I cannot praise DMC highly enough. The whole team has been instrumental in my personal development. DMC has taught me how to eat well and train efficiently. The nutritional advice has been fantastic. I have now learnt how my body reacts to certain foods, and when and why I reach for “junk” food. I look forward to meeting my coach every week and I am looking forward to what we can achieve in 2014.
