Tier 4 restrictions are in place in Glasgow from Friday the 20th of November for 3 weeks. Due to this we won’t be able to provide face to face coaching until Saturday the 12th of December. In the meantime, we still offer 1-2-1 online personal training.
So at 36 years old, 6ft tall at 18stone 9lbs, I find myself once again telling myself and my family that I need to do something about my diet, weight and fitness.
My diet was appalling and contained a lot of takeaway. I was so unfit that even just walking for a short distance had me a sweaty mess. I had so little energy that I might as well have been sleeping most of the time. It’s fair to say that I was at a pretty low point in my life.
I was no stranger to the commercial gym, having been to a few over the years. I’d never had any success with them. I put that down to the one size fits all “personalised” training plans, lack of motivation and lack of available real world advice. I was cringing at the thought of having to go through it again.
I need not have worried. The guys at DMC inspire confidence in their ability. A large thanks to Laura and Steven for coming across that way in the initial consultation. They gave me the confidence that what they where telling me was achievable even though before I arrived I would never have believed it. I immediately knew I wanted the help of DMC and more importantly knew I’d get results from it.
My first glimpse of what was to come came 2 weeks after starting my first block of training. I have ulcerative colitis which is an auto immune disease and although there’s no proven cause, there’s a lot of circumstantial evidence to suggest dietary influence. Particularly from additives, gluten, dairy and potato among other things. I’d never really noticed any individual triggers but after those first two weeks my digestive system felt great. All of the bloating had gone completely! Not only that, I had energy and bags of it. Other people where actually starting to comment on my energy levels and weight loss.
Fast forward to the end of my first block of twelve sessions, the dietary advice I’ve received has been excellent, the PT sessions and circuits I’ve been given are hard work but rewarding.
Most importantly, I feel healthier than I have in as long as I can remember and I’ve lost 29lbs!
When I saw my before and after pictures I was amazed. I’ve often looked at that kind of image and thought what a load of rubbish. It’s not possible to get those results in that amount of time. I’m eating those words now.
Half way through my second block of training I’d lost another stone, I was seeing the muscle get more toned as the weeks went by. I was ecstatic with the progress!
It didn’t stop there. I’m just getting to the end of my third block of sessions, I’ve lost 60lbs!
My Jeans are down from a 40″ waist to a 32″ waist and my tops from an XXL+ to a M/L.
Those sizes are smaller than when I was 16 years old!
All I can say is call DMC right now, you will not regret it. There’s no doubt that my life has been extended. I was a prime candidate for a heart attack within the next five years, now I’m happy to say I don’t think I am.
