I have always been into fitness and keeping myself active.  Throughout University, I could train frequently; I was weightlifting 3-4 times a week and doing circuit or cardio a couple of times a week, too.

When I moved to Glasgow for work, I told myself that I would stay fit and healthy and not “let myself go” as I am very much a believer in a healthy body, healthy mind; unfortunately, that wasn’t the case.  I could feel myself gradually putting on weight as my suit trousers were tightening around my waist. It was a downward spiral for me. I wasn’t eating well and training sessions got less intense and less frequent. This, coupled with drinking heavily at weekends, was a disaster for my health. I knew something had to change, but I just couldn’t bring myself to face it.

My colleague, John, had always said to me that I should get myself along to DMC Fitness for a free consultation and to check the place out. In the beginning, I was almost too proud to get a personal trainer. I thought I could do it myself.  Needless to say, I was wrong, I needed some direction.

I trained with Pablo at DMC for over 20 weeks and I can’t thank him enough for the results he helped me to achieve. At DMC Fitness, the coaches tailor the training program specifically to align with the goals of each independent student, and therefore, you get a day-by-day exercise plan. Pablo gave me my sense of direction back, as well as in-depth nutrition advice about what I should or should not eat and when to eat it.

After my first block of 10 sessions, the results were phenomenal. I had gone from 13st 8lbs to 12st 10lbs and reduced my body fat reduced by 5%. I focused on doing high-intensity workouts which mostly comprised of bodyweight circuits.  What was even better was that my sessions only lasted 50 minutes, compared to previously where I was training for at least 90.

My training now involves lifting more weights and this has helped me gain lean mass. Pablo introduced me to many different types of training, such as endurance work and lifting at different tempos. There is no doubt that all aspects of my fitness improved dramatically. The results speak for themselves – my body fat is a single digit.

I have to thank DMC Fitness for what I have been taught. Not only has training with them steered me back in the right direction with my health and fitness; my lifestyle has improved and my train of thought is much more positive.

A member of the team will be there to support you every week and push you physically and mentally to the next level. Anything is possible.
