Helena Morrow

My name is Helena Morrow. I was born in 1959, and I’m a company director.

I first joined DMC when it originally opened. And I first came because my daughter recommended him ahead of her getting married.

Well, it’s been a long journey because I’ve been with Davie a long time. So the reasons why I’ve come have changed as we have transitioned through the decades.

I first came to train for my daughter’s wedding just to get fit and to look reasonably good. Later, I came because I worked in an office and I was sitting all day and wanted to keep mobile. Then because I’ve had various injuries due to osteoporosis and I’ve broken my wrist three times. I’ve also got broken vertebraes in my back.

Davie takes all these challenges on board. He listens to what you’ve got and what you’re looking for and works with you. H develops as you age, as you progress and you see the changes as you progress. I last broke my wrist a year ago and the hospital has been astounded at how it’s back to normal and I can just work away. The osteoporosis clinic were impressed with my mobility and my lack of pain.

I enjoy it every time I’m here. It doesn’t feel like a big chore to come to the gym like some other places can.

Davie works with you and your ability and meaning that you’re not overly stretched and you just progress as you go along. And then adjustments are made and then you can see all it come together. And I like that way of working.

I also suffered a lot of bereavements during the pandemic time and it was great to get back to DMC. Exercise always helps with that mental health issue as well.

If you’re thinking of getting fitter I’d say just come and try it. You’ve got nothing to lose. You’ll be worried, coming in but you’ll leave ecstatic.
